Schools

"Face-to-face in schools, at my office or online, in or out of school hours."

I offer the opportunity for schools to access counselling for vulnerable young people and staff to enable them to engage in school activities, improve attendance and give them the support to manage their mental wellbeing. This allows the school to contract me rather than having to employ a full-time counsellor. The sessions are offered face-to-face in school, at my office or online, in or out of school hours. I provide talking therapies to meet the need of the young person, art therapies, play based therapies and techniques. “I employed Faye Bullingham (Acorn To Oaks) over a period of 4 years to work with vulnerable pupils across the Primary school age range. She delivered bespoke interventions to individuals and small groups to address issues around mental health, anxiety and bereavement. Faye also worked closely with the families so that they could input strategies at home to support the work in school. As a result, we saw a dramatic improvement in attendance and classroom engagement which led to increased academic performance (89% of the pupils Faye worked with achieved age-related expectations at the end of the year). In addition, Faye also worked with staff on a 1-1 basis to support their mental health and well being and to mentor them around managing workload and to help them establish a work -life balance. Faye was an invaluable asset to our setting and with her experience in both Primary and Secondary schools, I would highly recommend her services to promote the mental health and well-being of any establishment.”
